WORKSHOPS

At WERC, research forms the basis of every project. These researches are conducted from various angles and disciplines. In addition to its own research, WERC conducts research together with various educational institutions by doing workshops.

WERC has already been involved in multiple collaborations with educational institutions in the form of project weeks. Within a certain time frame such as a project week, WERC facilitates a learning environment where knowledge and expertise are exchanged and students make new discoveries.

WERC hosted several workshop-weeks at different art academies such as the Minerva Art Academy and TAMK Tampere (Finland). WERC participated in the international workshop-week Island CQ in Latvia at former Soviet top-secret espionage center, where they gave a course in video mapping on a 32 meter satellite disk. WERC also developed a course for projectfilesing on ice sculptures as part of an environmental art project in Labland.

Lantern project:WeWish Tsurumi, Japan
We were invited by our partners in Tokyo to participate in the WeTrees Festival in Tsurumi. Here, we created the interactive community artwork ‘WeWish’. With ‘WeWish’, we used 84 lanterns to translate children’s wishes for the city into audio and images
